This upcoming Spring the Eisenhower Instrumental Music Program will be travelling to Walt Disney World/Universal Studios in Orlando Florida!! The dates of trip are VERY early morning Thursday, April 30 until late Sunday, May 3rd and will be offered to all instrumental music students who’s home school is Ike, as well as 9th grade members of the Marching Eagles. Dear Instrumental Music Parents and Students,
I am excited to inform you that the Instrumental Music students will be visiting Walt Disney World/Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida this school year for their biennial trip. Students will leave by airplane VERY early (FYI: tentative 2:45am call time) on Thursday morning, April 30, 2020, and return home to Ike late Sunday evening, May 3, 2020. This trip is voluntary and is open to ALL Eisenhower Instrumental Music classroom ensemble students and any student in the Marching Eagles. If we can get enough participants we are happy to announce that the Marching Eagles will perform in a parade at one of the Disney Parks!! This trip will tentatively include the following (itinerary to be released later):
- Round Trip Air on Delta from DTW
- Deluxe motor coaches for airport transfers in Michigan and transportation needs while in Florida
- NO FUEL SURCHARGE GUARANTEE
- Cost of Driving/Transporting all instruments, uniforms, equipment to Florida and back
- Gratuities for your motor coach drivers
- Three night’s accommodation at the Disney Port Orleans Riverside or Equivalent On-Site Lodging
- Private nighttime security at the hotel from 10:30pm-5:30am (Two Guards)
- Three Breakfast Meals
- Four Dinner/Lunch Meal Coupons for use in the parks
- Two $10.00 Dining Cards for use in the parks
- Disney Performing Arts “On Stage” 3-Day Park Hopper Pass
- One day at Universal Studios Florida with dual park tickets
- Student participation in Disney’s “You’re Instrumental” workshop for band
The cost of the trip will be approximately $1595 per student, based on four students to a room ($1785 for chaperones, based on double occupancy). These costs are based on available trip/flight information as of right now and may be lowered if the travel company is able to secure cheaper flights and/or other arrangements.
IMPORTANT PROCESS: For your child to be included in the trip, you must register at http://ips.bobrogerstravel.com by FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4th. You will then have until Oct 11th to pay your $400 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. See the attached document for instructions on creating your step-by-step Bob Rogers Travel IPS Account. Enter Trip I.D. MI017500042. After completing the process, you will receive a conformation email with options to purchase trip insurance if desired. The rest of the money will come in four payments of $300.00 due on November 15th, January 17th, February 21st, and April 3rd (this payment could be adjusted based on final cost). Bob Rogers Travel will be processing all payments through their IPS System! Through the fundraising efforts of the Instrumental Music Boosters, your last payment could be reduced, so please come and volunteer to help the organization! MB Rehearsal: Also please note that we will be having a mandatory Band rehearsal for students attending the Florida trip on TBD at 3:30pm in the Band Room. This will be to go over the 2 pieces we will be playing in the Magic Kingdom, TENTAIVELY “Get Ready” and “Jenny/867-5309”. Please make sure to re-familiarize yourself with the selections so rehearsal can progress quickly and easily. If you need music you can find it below:

We will also be using this time to load the truck driving to Orlando with our gear so as to make the morning’s departure easy and efficient. If for some reason you can’t make this rehearsal/loading session you need to let Mr. Traskal know ASAP so you can figure out how you’re going to get your equipment loaded. This vehicle will be leaving for Florida immediately after the rehearsal is over. We will also be taking time to try on uniforms before they get loaded in case a student’s size has changed.

Update: COMING February 2020
Below please find the final itinerary for our 2020 Florida Trip! Students/chaperones are expected to participate in all activities and adhere to set calendar of events. We have set the park schedule to maximize hours and still manage all of our performances efficiently. During the “It’s Instrumental Clinic” guard students will be allowed time at a park TBD.
Keep in mind that FastPasses will become available to us on TBD 2020, so please check over the itinerary very carefully when selecting them. All of the Disney Park tickets have been sent electronically through the Bob Rodgers Travel email server. Please look very carefully when setting up your FastPass app so you don’t accidentally assign the wrong tickets. For issues with FastPass you need to contact Bob Rodgers Travel before the 25th.
