Welcome to the 2009-20010 Marching Band Season!
Right now, we are busy preparing for the upcoming marching band season. The show for the 2009-2010 season is music from Styx. We are confident that you will enjoy the music. Once the students get the music, they should start to memorize it. You are also getting information about mini-band camp, arrival time for camp, bus and camp rules, 2009-20010 marching band schedule, a packing list for camp and a tentative daily schedule.
We would like to remind all students involved in summer activities such as marching band that your calendars are updated with rehearsal dates. Information will be posted on the ikebands.com website. Also a reminder that in order for you to be a part of the ½ time and festival show, you need to go to camp to learn the show. All other band students will be marching pre-game, performing in the stands, post game and parades.
We look forward to seeing all of you once again and meeting any new faces and families that we are not familiar with. Have a restful and enjoyable summer!
Marching Band Schedule:
Available on the Instrumental Music Boosters website – Ikebands.com Revisions will be posted as received.
2009 Camp Information
EHS 2009 Band Camp will be held at Camp Walden August 9th-15th. Camp Walden is set on the shores of beautiful Long Lake near the northern tip of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, eight miles south of Cheboygan. It covers more than 150 acres of virgin forest, sparkling waterfront, meadows, rolling hills and trails. The facilities include cabins, outdoor basketball, volleyball and a beach. Camp Walden address: 5607 South River, Cheboygan, Mi 49721 Phone # - 231.625.2050.

Transportation to and from camp is provided, but if you plan on picking your child up after the performance Saturday, please let Carrol Reilly (Head Band Camp Chaperone) know ASAP. We might be able to save some transportation money by not ordering as many buses for the return trip. There will be a performance for family and friends at noon on our camp field. A detailed map is available on the ikebands.com website. Family and friends should plan on arriving around 11:30 a.m. to allow enough time to walk to the main field for the performance. It is about 4 hours travel time if there is no construction or traffic problems on I-75.
